Without a doubt, our top priority to take every measure to ensure your items come out of storage in the same condition that they were in when placed into your mini-storage warehouse space.  We have staff onsite, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  We have gating, fencing, video surveylance systems, as much lighting as is possible at our facilities, and yet still strive to give our tenants the 24 hour a day, 7 day a week access to their items.

The best security tip we can give is to purchase a very good lock for your items.  We suggest the round discus style locks because we know how tough they are when a tenant loses a key.  It takes a locksmith to get them removed, which is expensive.  They are worth a few extra dollars compared to the standard locks, even those with extra housings shrouding the hasps.  We offer them for $10 each for new and $5 each for used. 

Additionally, these mini-storage warehouse buildings breathe in the outside air.  They have to in order to prevent mold and mildew.  As such, it means they cannot be air tight, which means dust will be an enemy of your finer furniture.  Be sure to cover those items with plastic.  Also, tupperware storage containers seem to be handy and good protection for your smaller things like books and smaller personal items against dust.

Lastly, check with your own homeowners insurance agent about purchasing insurance coverage for your items while in storage.  We offer short term coverage for your items through a third party vendor, but by far, better, more affordable coverage is generally available via your existing personal policy via an endorsement.
